If you really hold me tight . . .

All the way home,
I'll be warm.
Meet
Rosie, who
has no home. . .
The weather outside is indeed frightful in many places
this winter. Sadly, far too few are allowed to experience the fire so
delightful. Some wander aimlessly in the cold and never make it to any home at
all. Every time the snow falls and the wind wails, I pray for the countless
homeless animals who suffer so terribly in this weather.
A few lucky souls find their way to rescues like ours.
If they are really lucky, they move into homes quickly, where they find warmth
and comfort and love. Others have to wait, however, because there are not enough
homes (even temporary ones) to go around. The dogs sit in their loneliness at
boarding kennels, waiting, hoping. Maybe they pray, too.
It is a wonder that Rosie
survived at all. She lived outdoors without shelter, through all kinds of
weather, for who knows how long. Her companion was darling little
Wiggles, pictured just below.

How they made it is nothing short of a miracle. They
are out of the elements now, but they still have no home. Our foster homes are
full, and there are very few new offers to foster. This means that these poor
animals must keep waiting for that special someone. Worse yet, it also means
that many others will die because all the boarding spaces are taken.
When homes are lacking, kennels fill up, and until
homes are found for those already with us, we cannot take anyone else. It is a
huge problem. The knocking on our doors never stops. It is heartbreaking to be
unable to answer. We need serious help to change these sad facts. If kenneled
dogs move into homes, other in dire need can find refuge. There is no other
way.
Rosie and
Wiggles lived in hell far too
long to spend another day languishing. They don't have to go home together
(though it would be SO nice if they could), but they certainly have to go home.
Will you help us change Fate, not just for
Rosie and
Wiggles, but for the many
others who need us? The pictures above will tell you more about the special duo.
The sleigh below will take you to everyone else.
THANK YOU!
