Annabelle was taken in by another rescue organization and fostered by them. Nothing was happening for this little sweetheart, so her foster called us. We featured her on our home page, and things started happening immediately. We could have adopted her twenty times over! That seems to be the good fortune of young female Cockers, especially if they are buff. We can't quite figure out why this happens, since boy dogs are as wonderful as girl dogs, and color shouldn't matter to anyone. But Annabelle had the star profile she needed. A lucky lady worked hard to adopt Annabelle, and they are living happily in Virginia today. Annabelle's new mother recently wrote to us. Please read her story.
Annabelle is truly at home, and she rules the roost. I took her to a college softball game the other day, and she began howling when people were cheering! The team deemed her their cheerleader and good luck charm, so now we go to ball games every chance we get! She loves the attention when she gives off a little howl, so she has begun to use the tactic at home when she wants to go outside! She loves to sit on the sofa with me in the evening and rest her head in my lap. Of course, her favorite past time is rolling on her back and encouraging me to scratch her belly. She does get a little frustrated when I go to the den and turn on the computer at home. She'll put her paws in my lap and try to get my attention. Thank goodness there are two floor-to-ceiling windows in the den so she can sit and look out over her kingdom! Annabelle loves to play fetch with one of her toys, but she takes no interest in the other toys at all. Every once in a while she'll go to her basket and fish out a toy, walk away with it, and then drop it. I suspect she's seeing if I'm paying attention as she will then return to the basket and pick up another and do the same! She loves to be out on the front porch of the house, so I am having a carpenter come and put a gate on the porch so she can go out there by herself sometimes. I am so glad that I found her; she is wonderful! |
