Revised January 25, 2000

Handsome Apollo -- now called Isaac by his adoptive mother -- is finally rid of the sad look you see in the picture. That is how he looked after his owners dumped him at a Maryland shelter. He was lost, lonely, and looking for love. My heart broke when he looked up at me with his confused wide eyes, as if to say, "Why? What did I do?" I wondered if it had something to do with the fact that he didn't see very well. He had cataracts. I hope no one puts me out to pasture if my eyesight ever begins to fail. Gosh, I felt sorry for him.

This gentle boy won the heart of a very special lady who drove a long way from Pennsylvania to Maryland to one of our adoption shows to meet Gordie. He was very fortunate to be adopted with Gordie, who is now his buddy. His new mother has taken care of his eyes. He has had surgery, and he can see again! It doesn't get better than that. He has a wonderful, loving home at last, and he has been given the precious gift of sight. What a wonderful mother he found.
