Adorable Ashley has found a wonderful home, and I could not be more pleased for her. She has been through too much in her short life. This sweetheart, who is no more than three, has been a mother at least twice. We have had three of her tiny offspring in our care at a loving foster home (with their mommy as long as she was needed, of course). Their pictures and story are posted on the website, too. Ashley was found wandering as a stray on the streets of College Park, Maryland. She was anemic and very pregnant, and it was far too late to consider spaying. We worried, as we didn't know what kind(s) of dogs had caught her, but she came through whelping just fine, and she was an excellent mother. She will never have to experience motherhood again; she has done her duty, and she has been spayed. Ashley's foster mother told me that her goal in life is to be with people. She has the endearing quality of going limp like a little ragdoll when she is picked up and held. Her trust is that complete. All in all, she is a very sweet, loving, intelligent girl, and she has at last gotten the break she deserves. May she live happily ever after. |
