Posted November 6, 2000 Bailey, formerly known as Bob, found his forever home in an unusual way. His foster mother was walking him one day when she ran into one of her neighbors. For her neighbor and her two young sons, it was love at first sight. They had been considering adopting a dog for some time, and they immediately began the adoption process. While waiting to be approved, the boys made frequent visits to Bailey. Each time they left to go home, Bailey would whine. It was as if he knew he was meant to be with them, too. This is a very far cry from the horror of abandonment and shelter life, where "Bob" was facing death at the end of a needle. I am very relieved we were called to save him, very grateful to my wonderful support staff -- one of whom made the trip to get him and another who transported him to his foster and handled all the "adoption process" for us. I'm also thankful to Bailey's foster mother for taking such excellent care of him and making him available to this wonderful family. Bailey is now in his forever home, and he has two devoted young boys by his side from now on. |
