Bogey's story brought an enormous response from people reading the home page. No one could believe it. Bogey was tossed from a moving car onto a busy highway. A motorist passing by watched Bogey chase after his "family" in one hundred degree heat. He was nearly hit by other cars before he finally collapsed from exhaustion. The witness picked him up and took him to a Maryland shelter. Then we were called.

It was heartbreaking for me to see this sweet, adorable little guy panting with terror in my car when I slowed down to pay a toll. It took a little time, and a lot of love and effort from a terrific foster mother in Takoma Park, Maryland, but Bogey really came around. His foster mother fell in love. Bogey became the darling of our home page. So many people wanted to adopt him after hearing his story. He needed a special situation, though, we we believe we finally found it with a loving family in Virginia.

We want to thank everyone who wrote to us about Bogey and to ask all of you to keep spreading the word. There are a lot of dogs like Bogey out there with no one to fight for them. We have to be their voice, and we have to keep trying to save as many as we can. We have all learned so much from Bogey. How he loves people, in spite of the foul way those he trusted most abused him. He is now in a home where his trust won't be betrayed, and we couldn't be happier for him.
