Precious Bonnie came to us in bad shape. It's an absolute crime for someone to have let her get as sick as she was. She was found wandering as a stray and landed in a shelter. Staff members discovered that her mouth was so severely infected, she had to be put on antibiotics immediately, and all but four of her teeth had to be extracted. She was in terrible pain, but still she smiled. She gave kisses and rolled over for belly rubs when one of our volunteers picked her up. Her time had run out. We were relieved no owner had come to claim her.

Our concerns for her compounded when a mass was uncovered in her rectum during a routine examination. The vet believed the lump was benign, but it had to be removed, mostly because it was causing Bonnie pain. The surgery was expensive. We still need all the help we can get from anyone willing to sponsor little Bonnie and contribute toward her care.

I am so pleased to report that Bonnie's surgery was a complete success, and she has been adopted into a loving permanent home. Her family adores her.

We still need help paying Bonnie's bills, I'm afraid. I am so grateful to those who have sent donations, but we're not there yet. Please send whatever you can via check or money order, made out to CSAC, to P.O. Box 275, Phoenix, MD 21131. If you prefer using a credit or debit card, you may click on the Pay Pal link below, and follow the simple instructions. It is secure.

Bonnie refused to give up, and neither did we. She had a terrific foster mother and many people working on her behalf. It made all the difference. Please help us continue to save other dogs like Bonnie. We cannot do this without you.
