We do our best to rescue dogs from all kinds of situations every day. Sometimes, in spite of our strongest efforts, we cannot prevail. Everyone who has ever loved an animal knows the pain of losing him or her, and it is hard to understand the deliberate abuse and neglect that can lead to such a thing.

We offer this section as a tribute to those dogs who fought the good fight and did not make it. They touch our hearts nevertheless. Some knew very little love in their lives, and others were loved very much and held onto life as long as they could. May the dogs honored here stand as a tribute to other animals in similar situations who have no one to speak for them. May they send us a message that we will not be able to forget. And may their stories inspire us to keep on fighting for the living, while we are ever mindful of those that have passed on.
